This is a trip, plain and simple. You choose which type (LSD, or what not) but it is TRIPPY !!! Saxophone ? wow at first I was like WTH, but then, and then again, I really come to like this. One of those albums I needed to listen to many time, as it grows. It was not love at first hearing, for sure.

Pallbearer have definitely cemented themselves as a pioneer in the new wave of doom metal. Silver Wings is perhaps the standout for me though the rest of the album is a damn good listen too.

I love the light and shade between Bryan's dirty and Emma's forlorn vocals. There are so many layers to this recording that are driven home through contrast. Plus the riffs are brilliant and get me moving. I can't stop listening to Thou and Emma in general lately.
